I have never found gift-giving particularly difficult. Those that I buy for, I generally know pretty well whether it be a family member, a partner or a friend. I actually love the lead up to Christmas and writing a list of ideas for presents for […]
Today is a very special day – and one that I have been overwhelmingly excited to share with you all! Partnering with Gina from Behind the Pages, I am beyond proud to announce that The (Oblivious) New Mama has its very own, all natural skincare range! The […]
To kick this exciting post off, I did try and come up with a clever way of merging ‘palmers’ and ‘partnership’. Alas, all I came up with was palmnership and that just doesn’t quite roll off the tongue. It also completely fails to capture how wonderfully and overly excited I am to announce that The (Oblivious) New Mama is in collaboration with the amazing team at Palmer’s Australia! Huzzah!
A couple of weeks ago, I kicked off the ‘Products’ section of my site where I will be reviewing products and also keeping all the mamas-to-be out there updated on what I have been buying, using and LOVING during my pregnancy – and beyond! As with every other part of this pregnancy, I have had people thrusting their opinions onto me when it came to what stretch mark cream I should be using. Unlike opinions on my body and appearance and child, I welcome opinions on products because more often than not, I am going in completely oblivious.
I have always loved Palmer’s products and have been using their everyday moisturiser for years now. So, when it came to choosing a stretch mark cream – even though I was pushed and prodded towards certain products by others mamas – I went straight for the Palmer’s Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. Highly recommend, ladies. I am not up-to-date with skin care or beauty products and still, at almost twenty-eight years old, completely suck at doing make-up. Winged eyeliner? Forget it. Palmer’s has always been completely accessible to me – it is natural, affordable and doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not (it doesn’t have to be anything else, it’s brilliant).
I loved it initially for the smell because after a steaming hot shower, I rub the lotion into my belly and I smell like a delicious piece of chocolate, however what I have come to appreciate the most is how quickly (instantly) it absorbs into my skin. I don’t wear a lot of moisturiser because I cannot stand the feeling of being greasy and slimy and then it gets all over my phone and my keyboard at work gets all feral; Palmer’s have completely changed the game.
“Cocoa Butter melts at your body temperature. As it does, it delivers nature’s most powerful concentration of antioxidants to prevent the effects of ageing. It moisturises by combining with your natural oil balance,” explains the company. The basis and core ingredient of all of their products is cocoa butter, but the formulas also include shea butter, olive butter and coconut oil. So, you can imagine how good I smell. My belly has grown significantly and not only have I not got any new stretch marks, but some of my pre-existing stretch marks have started to fade. My skin feels firm and tight and incredibly, luxuriously soft.
Not only that, but I do make a point of always buying products that have an ethical and environmental conscious where possible. Palmer’s has that covered too. They are a cruelty-free company who do not test their products on animals, are a proud member of the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF). Supporting cocoa farmers and their families around the world, as well as being a part of the Global Shea Alliance (GSA) forging a sustainable Shea industry worldwide.
I am so excited to be in collaboration with Palmer’s Australia (if you couldn’t tell already) and cannot speak highly enough of their products. I began talking with the incredible people at Palmer’s when I approached them to be a part of something very exciting that I am working on for all you mamas-to-be out there. I am just finishing up the fine tuning and the final details, but am honoured and incredibly proud that Palmer’s have jumped on board..
And trust me, you will all be just as grateful once I break the news!
